trees are for snakes

Jabber hatched on 9/8/2005, though he didn’t come live with me until 2/24/09 (he’s my Mardi Gras snake). The last pic in the set was taken just after he’d been put into his cage; the rest of the photos are from today, his 8th birthday.

He was only 156 grams when I got him, and had some dehydration issues. Got water in him and weight on him, but he’ll never be as big as, say, Bander. And he’s probably my most “boring” looking chondro (if you can call any chondro boring), though his clutchmate #05188 is super flashy. He was one of the holdbacks from that clutch, sold to his previous owner after he went green during his color change.

He also has the dubious distinction of being the only adult chondro to land a bite on me. (I’d only had him a short while, and it was totally my fault.)

But he’s my “old man” chondro and I love him.
